At Archer St Physiotherapy Centre, we treat patients with a Medicare General Practitioner Management Plan (GPMP) or Team Care Arrangement (TCA). You may be entitled to several physiotherapy sessions that are rebatable by Medicare. This enables you to prioritise your health, and worry less about treatment costs.

How Do Medicare General Practitioner Management Plans Work?

If you have a chronic medical condition, you may be eligible for physiotherapy services under a GPMP or TCA. These care plans help you and your GP to coordinate care and reduce the need for ad hoc consultations. Developing a care plan can also help encourage you to take responsibility for your care by identifying things you could do to achieve the goals of the treatment.

You may receive five individual allied health services each calendar year. These services include physiotherapy. To see if you are eligible, you will need to contact and secure a referral and plan from your usual general practitioner. At our centres, your physiotherapy treatment session will be charged in full, and then a rebate from Medicare will be processed using your GPMP or TCA plan and Medicare card. This leaves a small, out-of-pocket gap that is much cheaper than our standard rates. As we provide long, 30 minute appointments in private treatment rooms, with experienced Physiotherapists, we do not bulk-bill consultations.
