Veteran-friendly Physiotherapy Services
Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) cards provide access to specific benefits, including physiotherapy care. You may be eligible for physiotherapy treatments at Archer St Physiotherapy Centre – please present your DVA Health Card and your GP referral at your first consultation.
How Does the DVA Card Work?
For the physiotherapy coverage of DVA Card holders, a valid referral for physiotherapy care must be provided prior to treatment. The referral may come from your general practitioner, a medical specialist, a treating hospital doctor, or a hospital discharge planner. The referral is valid for up to 12 treatment sessions or one year, whichever ends first.
The coverage of physiotherapy treatment depends on the type of Veteran Card. DVA Gold Card holders receive coverage for the treatment of any condition that requires physiotherapy. For DVA White Card holders, only treatment for specific service-related health conditions are covered. The Department is unable to fund treatment of conditions that are not listed under the patient’s “Accepted Disabilities”.
